Vinted Users Express Anger Over Sizing Modifications
Vinted users have been reacting angrily after an update resulted in listings displaying inaccurate size information.
The second-hand shopping app has altered its size classifications for women's and children's garments failing to inform all users about the change.
Online Platforms Reaction
Countless users and merchants are expressing on platforms saying Vinted listings now show an altered size classification versus the original listing due to the recalibration.
Vinted explained the revised method more closely matches comparable marketplaces.
They have suggested members to review their products and manually change the size when needed, causing user dissatisfaction.
Sizing System Updates
Earlier, the measurements included a single numeric size and a letter, like S/8 or M/10.
The updated approach includes a letter with a size spectrum such as S/UK 8-10.
In some cases, the measurements have been reclassified - for example a size L used to be a 12 but is now a UK 16-18.
User Accounts
Frankie Bridger, who makes TikTok content about plus-size fashion, said the change "makes both selling and buying harder".
"Few clothing companies classify XL as 20-22," which is what Vinted now does.
Stephanie Gallen, based in Glasgow, explained products she uploaded on Vinted with size 14 labels were displaying on the service as measurements 20-22.
"If anyone [who is] size 20-22 buys them they will likely be quite upset," she stated.
Required Changes
Another shopper, from Derby, said she had been left angered due to the update requiring manual adjustment the sizes on "every single listing".
"For me this is particularly frustrating, since I have chronic health issues and Vinted sales have been crucial after experiencing income reduction," she explained.
Service Background
The service features exceeding 100 million shoppers, comprising 18 million UK members.
It has emerged as a preferred choice versus similar marketplaces including eBay and Depop.
This represents another occasion when a surprising modification within the service has received backlash: earlier, the platform withdrew an update regarding delivery choices after backlash from users.
